Potassium Permanganate 

Kusuri Potassium Permanganate is a good disinfectant for ponds and nets. Kusuri Potassium Permanganate is also excellent for the eradication of Trichodina and Costia and other parasites.

 

Kusuri Potassium Permanganate is supplied as a very fine crystalline grade which is far easier to dissolve.

 

Kusuri Potassium Permanganate will discolour water for up to 7 days, and can be used down to 10 C.

 

At higher temperatures Potassium Permanganate will remove some oxygen from water, so it is advisable to keep an airstone running whilst the treating the pond or quarantine tank.

 

Dosage 6.8gms per 1000 gallons. We do not recommend the use of Potassium Permanganate as a bath treatment.

Fluke M 

Kusuri Fluke-M is a 50mg/g Flubendazole based medication used to eradicate Gill and Body Flukes. This treatment is safe to use without destroying the bacteria in the filter and can be used at any temperature. While dosing with Fluke M you can continue to feed.

​

This product is designed as a one off treatment, but may require a second dose after 7 days in heavy infestation.

 

Alternatively you can use Kusuri Fluke – P after 7 days.

 

If the mucus layer is excessive, we advise dosing with Chloramine T at 15g per 1000 gallons, 12 hours before using Fluke M, this will assist in reducing the mucus membrane where body flukes can sometimes get trapped.  

 

Kusuri Fluke-M is not an invasive, toxic medication like Kusuri Malachite Green and Kusuri Formalin 30%. The Flubendazole is absorbed by the flukes and dissolves their digestive tract that subsequently starves the parasite.  

 

Fluke M may require a second dose after 7 days in heavy infestations. Kusuri recommend a mucus scrape and microscope identification prior to a second application.

Fluke-M can also be used for the eradication of pond snails and Intestinal Helminths Worms.

 

For best results use above 15°C. At 10°C a second dose may be required.

Chloramine T  

Kusuri Chloramine T is a very popular and effective treatment to generally lower bacterial levels in the pond. Kusuri Chloramine T can be effective on white spot, skin flukes and some bacterial gill diseases. Kusuri Chloramine T can be used in the entire pond or as a dip or bath treatment. 

 

Kusuri Chloramine T is a powdered product an effective broad spectrum chemical for lowering bacteria in ponds.

 

At higher dose rates Kusuri Chloramine T can be used for skin / gill flukes, white spot, costia etc.

Typical Dosages : 5 grams per 1000 gallons as an anti- bacterial or 15-20 grams per 1000 gallons as an anti parasite treatment (4 doses required).

Malachite Green 2%  

Kusuri Malachite Green 2% is best used with Kusuri Formalin 30% for the effective treatment of most single cell parasites including White Spot, Costia, Chilodonella, Oodinium, persistent Fungus caused by Saprolengia and Protozoan Parasites.

 

Do not use below 12.5°C (54.5°F).

 

Mixing Formalin30% and Malachite Green 2% is an effective way of treating most microscopic parasites.

Kusuri Formalin and Malachite Green Premix can be used for the effective treatment of most single cell parasites including White Spot, Costia, Chilodonella, Oodinium, persistent Fungus caused by Saprolengia and Protozoan Parasites.

Kusuri 30% Formalin and Malachite Premix is a ready to use full strength formulation, popular as a pond-wide anti-parasite treatment. It is particularly good for White Spot, Skin Flukes, Chilodonella, Oodinium and most Protozoan Parasites.
